Q) DO YOU MAKE BOYS COSTUMES?
A) Yes, we design both boys waistcoats and jackets. We also have several diamanté packages specifically for boys costumes.
Q) WILL I RECEIVE KICK PANTS?
A) No. As dancers are quite particular about what kind of kick pants they wear we've opted to not provide a generic kick pant.
Q) WHAT SORT OF MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
A) Traditionally, Irish dancing costumes have been made with velvet and throughout the years several new types of materials have been introduced such as satin, gaberdine, silk and most recently lace. Currently, many people are wary of using velvet as they think it might weigh down the costume and restrict a dancer’s movement. We, however, use a very light weight, micro velvet with a very low nap that is soft to the touch and very rich in colour. It’s a similar weight to a gaberdine or the like. While, we use a wide range of materials when possible and appropriate we recommend using velvet on the costumes as they truly are the richest and best material for the stage and help to carry on the tradition of where these costumes started to begin with.
Q) ARE CRYSTALS INCLUDED?
A) Crystals are an additional cost. We have several crystal packages to choose from and we only use genuine Swarovski crystals. Here are a few additional details to help you understand how the process works reading Swarovski crystals aka ‘Bling’:
We will maximise your budget to the best of our ability in order to get the most coverage throughout a costume as possible. Depending on your budget we take the costume’s design into consideration when determining the best course of action to take. For example, statement stones such as large pears and rivoli can eat away at a budget very quickly so in order to stretch your budget as far as possible we can opt to either use them sparingly or avoid them entirely.
Another option is to increase the distance between the Swarovski crystals that are placed on top of the embroidery to literally stretch your budget further. We have three examples of spacing between crystals on top of embroidery that are available for you to choose from.
Q) IS IT THERE ROOM FROM GROWTH IN YOUR COSTUMES?
A) Yes, we leave a 2 inches allowance either side of a seam for future alterations if needed. However, the darts sewn into the bodices of a dress might prove to be a challenge as they’re sewn in before the embroidery and, therefore, an alteration could potentially compromise the embroidery’s design and flow. This is of course, different on every costume and must be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Q) IS IT POSSIBLE TO ORDER A MATCHING HEADBAND?
A) Yes, a headband embroidered to match your dress complete with crystals is available for an additional cost.
Q) HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?
A) Shipping costs depend on your location. We will give you shipping options when your final payment is due.
Q) HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?
A) Typically delivery takes about 3-5 days in North America. You can also opt for overnight delivery in North America. Overseas delivery can take a few days longer. GoldenÉire is not responsible for any Duty Fees that may be charged if the dress is held in customs.
Q) WILL IMAGES OF MY DRESS BE POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
A) We reserve the right to post a teaser of your dress on social media. This would be a close up shot of a piece of the embroidery. Only full pictures of dresses or waistcoats will be posted on our site IF we receive permission from you at time of ordering. We reserve the right to use these pictures on social media or as part of our advertising. Full pictures of dresses or waistcoats will only be posted AFTER delivery of your dress.
Q) HOW SHOULD I STORE AND CARE FOR MY DRESS?

Dresses and waistcoats should never be machine washed.
